Chris Harwood is a British author from Cheshire, England, whose writing journey has taken him from the cheerful world of talking farm animals to the legendary age of Merlin and King Arthur.
Between 2022 and 2024, Chris wrote the Little Farm Yard series, including Little Cow Moo and Little Pig Oink. Inspired by a lifetime spent around children's books, the stories were created to entertain young readers while celebrating the warmth, humour, and imagination that make childhood so special.
Books have been a constant companion throughout Chris's life. His mother was a childminder, his younger sister arrived when he was thirteen, and later he became a father himself. With four children, a niece, and countless bedtime stories along the way, children's books have never been far from reach. Even today, he often finds himself wandering into the children's section of a bookshop before heading off in search of the latest fantasy novel.
That love of fantasy eventually led to The Age of Merlin. Released in 2026, the series reimagines the Arthurian legends through the eyes of a modern man suddenly transported to fifth-century Britain. Drawing inspiration from history, mythology, leadership, personal growth, and a fascination with how ordinary people rise to extraordinary challenges, Chris creates stories that blend adventure, wonder, and humanity.
When not writing, Chris enjoys spending time with his family, exploring the Cheshire countryside, reading, gaming, and pursuing the many interests that continually inspire new ideas and new stories.
Chris lives in Cheshire with his wife and family. The Age of Merlin is the first book in an epic fantasy trilogy.
